Typically, on April 2nd, we would all be gathered in the gym celebrating together.  We would take a moment to sing Happy Birthday, sing our alma mater, and grade levels would take turns announcing their gift to the school.  Gifts would usually promote our school's mission of "Growing Healthy Kids in a Healthy World" by planting flowers, cleaning up around the school, or some other service project but as you know, this year is different.

Although students and staff are apart, we still found a way we can be together and celebrate!  Staff members created Flipgrid videos wishing Eastwood a happy birthday and sharing what they're doing to stay healthy.  Some students drew bears and took them outside for an adventure, like a Flat Stanley project.  Other students sent their wishes to their classroom's Google Classroom pages.

This link contains videos from Ms. Frizzle doing a science experiment, a Magic School Bus read aloud, and our alma mater sung by our own Mr. Scott.   Pictures of our celebration, along with these links will also be posted on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
