🌿 How can people grow crops when there is not enough land or good soil? Fifth-grade students in Ms. Rohaley’s room posed this question and answered it as part of a project-based investigation. Students brainstormed possible solutions and agreed that a hydroponics’s unit would be the best solution. In hopes of furthering their investigation, Ms. Rohaley applied for a grant through the PTO funding to help students out their solution into action. The classroom received funding for the hydroponics’s unit and began the process. Students will plant various crops, record growth data, and enjoy the food.

📖Mrs. Katie’s PreK was treated to a bi-lingual read aloud, by a fellow Teacher, Ms. Jimenez. She read the book ‘Hands are not for Hitting’ teaching us about keeping our hands to ourselves. A wonderful experience for our English Language Learner and English speaking students.
⛺️Some of our fifth grade students learned how to pitch a tent for their outdoor educational unit!

Kindergarten students learned about artist Vincent Van Gogh before painting sunflower still life paintings.
First Grade students created colorful unique rainbows to review painting techniques.
Kindergarten students prepared for fall by reading The Leaf Thief and creating colorful collages inspired by illustrator Kate McFarlane.
