Inclement Weather

Inclement weather changes will be called by Monongalia County School's superintendent. For up-to-date information, please ensure you are signed up to receive calls through School Messenger, that you are a member of the North Remind group, and that you follow Monongalia County Schools and North Elementary on social media.

Early Dismissal

  • Students will be dismissed earlier than scheduled (normally 2 hours, unless otherwise noted)

  • Dismissal will begin at 1:25 PM and end at 1:45 PM

  • If the early dismissal is due to weather, there will not be Afternoon Adventures 

  • Prepare for children to come home early

  • Notify the office of alternate travel plans for their children.

Delay

  • The school day will begin later (normally 2 hours, unless otherwise noted)

  • Students may enter the building at 10:30 AM

  • Breakfast will not be served at school

  • There will not be Morning Adventures

  • Prepare for having children later than normal

  • Have breakfast at home if possible

  • Check the MCS Transportation site if riding a bus to be sure your child's bus is running.

Arctic Academy

  • The school building will be closed to students and families

  • Learning will occur remotely through Chrome devices

  • Assignments and schedules will be posted on Google Classrooms

  • Synchronous and asynchronous assignments and meetings may occur

  • Review the North Arctic Academy schedule when posted

  • Check Google Classroom for assignments and schedules for the day

  • Prepare to attend live meetings if scheduled (attendance will count)

  • Complete classroom assignments 

  • Email or send Remind messages to teachers if there are classroom questions (please do not call the office for classroom questions)

Schools Closed

  • The school building will be closed to students and families

  • Teachers will be unavailable

  • There will be no remote assignments
