What is the Pantry Plus More?

The Pantry Plus More puts Pantries inside of schools. The Pantries are stocked with food and drinks, health and beauty products (including deodorant, feminine hygiene supplies and laundry pods), school supplies including backpacks, and some clothing. We also bring a variety of Fresh Produce in once a month including apples, clementines, and more!

What schools have a Pantry Plus More Pantry?

  • Elementary: Mason Dixon, Ridgedale, North, Eastwood, Cheat Lake, Brookhaven.

  • Middle: South, Westwood, Clay Battelle, Mountaineer Middle

  • High: Clay Battelle, Monongalia County Technical Education Center (MTEC)

Who can use the Pantry?

Any student attending a school with an in-school Pantry can use the Pantry.

Does it cost anything?

No! Everything is free! Any child can use the Pantry in complete privacy. No registration is needed. Students may take whatever they need and as much as they can carry. Kids can stock up to make sure they have food on the week-ends, on days off from school, and over holiday breaks. At some schools, we provide week-end backpacks. Simply ask your teacher how your kids can sign up for the backpacks.

How can my child find the Pantry in school?

Different schools have the Pantry in different places. Your child just has to ask a teacher or school counselor where to find the Pantry. Your school social worker can also help!

Can Teachers use the Pantry in their school?

Yes! We encourage teachers to bring snacks and school supplies to their classroom so they have them in case a student needs something. Teachers can bring students to the Pantry to help kids get what they need. We hope teachers who have a need themselves feel free to use the pantry.

The Pantry Plus More is teaming up with your childā€™s school to offer a supply of nutritious foods and snacks for students over their weekends and extended breaks, free of charge.  Bags are distributed by the schools before the weekend and before breaks.

Any child is able to receive a weekend backpack.

If you feel that your child could benefit from this program, we encourage you to sign them up by filling out the from below and returning it to your school.

All information is kept confidential between The Pantry Plus More and your childā€™s school.

Once your child is signed up, they will receive a bag each week they are attending school during the 2021-2022 school year or until you no longer wish to participate.
